ARTS PRACTICAL ART J
Who can enrol? Those who are generally interested in Art. All students should have completed Year 9 Compulsory
Art. J

Course
outline: Year 10 Art is a practical introduction to drawing,
painting, printmaking, Maori Art and 3D Art.
Knowing about Art is essential to Art Making and this is built into and
taught in each unit. J
Assessment: Achievement Based Assessment J

DRAMA J
Who can enrol? Any student who has studied Drama at Year 9
successfully or who is starting in Drama. J
Costs: Nil J
Course
outline: A course of study in acting, improvisation and stage
craft. This course demands a high
degree of commitment. J
Assessment: Achievement based J
This
course leads to: The National Certificate of Educational Achievement
Level One. J

MUSIC J
Who can enrol? Any student who has completed a Year 9 Music course, or
in consultation with the Music Teacher. J
Costs: None J
Course
outline: This course combines the elements of Create, Re-Create,
Appreciate. Performance on a chosen
instrument is a major part of the course, that also includes composition,
musical appreciation, theory and specific studies of different types of music.
Some practice at home is required in addition to normal written homework. J
Assessment: This is done by a range of tasks, such as performances,
written tasks (such as compositions and tests), and listening exercises. J

course leads to: Level 1 NCEA Music. J
