PRACTICAL ART

 

Sixth Form Certificate

 

J    Who can enrol?

Those who have completed SC Art course.

 

J    Costs:

Course fee $15.

Students will be expected to purchase their own paint and brushes.

 

J    Course outline:

In Year 12 Art the student has the opportunity to work in greater depth in some of the following areas:

$      drawing

$      painting

$      sculpture

$      printmaking.

A greater development of skills and ideas is expected to be demonstrated at this level. 

Opportunity will be provided during the year for students to work on personal projects chosen in consultation with the Art Teacher.

J    Assessment:

Achievement SFC (fully internally assessed).

J    This course leads to:

Painting, Printmaking at Bursary level.

PRACTICAL PHOTOGRAPHY

 

Sixth Form Certificate

 

J    Who can enrol?

Those who have successfully completed SC Art course.  HOD discretion on submission of portfolio application.

 

J    Costs:

Students will supply their own 35mm SLR camera, film and paper (approx $200).  Starting fee $15.

 

J    Course outline:

The course will provide students with the skills required to take a photograph, develop that film and to enlarge the negatives as black and white prints.  It also provides a valuable introduction to the requirements and methods of working essential for UEBS examination (Bursary Photography).

 

J    Assessment:

Achievement SFC (fully internally assessed).

 

J    This course leads to:

Photography at Bursary level

Polytechnic courses

               DRAMA

 

Sixth Form Certificate

 

J    Who can enrol?

Any student who has attained a Year 11 Local Certificate or in consultation with the Drama teacher.

 

J    Costs: Nil

 

J    Course outline:

Study of acting, improvisation, theatre and stage craft.

A mainly practical course which requires a high degree of commitment.  

J    Assessment:

Internal.

Achievement based.

 

J    This course leads to:

Higher School Certificate.
