Emphasis is placed on the learning and use of oral language, listening and speaking.  You will also begin to read and write the language.  Kaupapa (topics) studied include: Whanau (family), Kura (school), Kainga (home).  The language of each topic is based on everyday events and experiences enabling you to use the language outside the classroom.
